i have no idea what's going on lately

early this morning, after my plane cut through three layers of cloud cover on it's final dive into portland, a lush green landscape specked with bits of red and orange and yellow revealed itself. it's fall. i mean, i've known this to be true for while now, but it wasn't until this morning that i fully felt it. and now it's almost gone. how'd that happen?
