i don't pretend to know what's inside you

the vernonia convenience shop had a nice variety of fried foods. i couldn't even fit it all in one frame.

we wanted it this way

it felt so warm last night. and then again this morning as a i rode to work. the warmth made me think about the cold a few weeks ago, how it snowed and how it felt impossible not to go out into the snow. we stayed out there, even after it stopped, taking pictures, not so much of ourselves, but of a feeling.

things change but it feels the same

the very talented megan holmes lent me a medium format camera a couple weekends back for a trip to the oregon coast. when i got the film back, some of the images i made just seemed to so clearly fit together. i'm not even sure how it happened. i have a couple more that i'll get up soon.

bordering on imperfection's license

i have this stash of photos on my phone that i never do much with -- beyond occasionally looking through them and feeling nostalgic. for a while now, i've been wanting to do something interesting with the images. this is a first run at that: a triptych using three photos i took while i was in seattle last fall.

a hundred unions in the snow

katie says her feet didn't get wet in the snow. i don't believe her.
